RICHARD WALOVITCH, Ph.D.

Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Walovitch is Chief Scientific Officer of WCC, which he joined as Chief Medical Officer in January 2009. Prior to joining WCC, he served as the Senior Vice President of clinical research at Acusphere, Inc., Vice President of Preclinical and Clinical Research at Epix Medical, and held various positions as Research Pharmacologist and Project Clinician in the Imaging Agent Group at the DuPont Merck Pharmaceutical Company. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institute on Drug Abuse’s Addiction Research Center in the Neurochemistry section. Dr. Walovitch has a Doctorate in Pharmacology from the University of Illinois Medical Center and a Bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Illinois. He is an author of more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, mostly in the field of medical imaging.

Heather Flynn, Ph.D.

Senior Director Scientific Operations
Dr. Heather Flynn leads the Medical Research Science team at WCC. She has over 15 years of experience supporting drug development across various therapeutic areas including Oncology, Respiratory, Musculoskeletal, and Neurology. Before joining WCC, Heather held scientific and operational leadership roles within both CRO’s and the pharmaceutical industry. Heather completed her PhD in PET imaging of apoptosis and holds PRINCE2 certification.

Jason S. Slakter, M.D.

Medical Director, Ophthalmology

Dr. Slakter is an internationally recognized retinal disease specialist with over 30 years of experience in clinical practice. He created the Digital Angiography Reading Center (DARC), which is one of the largest centers for image evaluation for clinical trials of posterior segment disease with over 1,600 certified clinical sites in over 70 countries worldwide, serving as a key resource for industry-sponsored studies of new treatments for retinal disorders. Dr. Slakter is also a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at NYU School of Medicine and has published more than 100 papers and book chapters. Dr. Slakter serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Orphion Therapeutics, Inc., a gene therapy company focused on developing new treatments to meet unmet needs for rare genetic diseases. Dr. Slakter is WCC’s Medical Director for Ophthalmology and has worked with WCC since the combination of DARC and WCC in 2021.

Hanna Rodriguez Coleman, M.D.

Associate Medical Director, Ophthalmology
Dr. Hanna Rodriguez Coleman has over 20 years of experience. Dr. Coleman is a Clinical Professor of General Ophthalmology and Vitreoretina Disease at Columbia University and is a Public Health spokesperson for the National Eye Institute and National Eye Health Education program. She regularly prepares imaging protocols as well as reader manuals for all imaging studies while providing ongoing training and oversight for our ophthalmic readers. She is the author of more than 25 research articles based on her studies and is published in the American Journal of Ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology, The Lancet, Ophthalmology, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and Retina.

Constance Moore, Ph.D.

Principal Medical Research Scientist

Dr. Moore is a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) physicist, with over 20 years’ experience managing the development and execution of strategic, tactical and operating plans in diagnostic imaging programs. She has engaged cross-functionally, in translational studies utilizing in vivo MRI biomarkers, to support drug discovery and development, in CNS, musculoskeletal, and hepatic systems clinical trials.

WieYing Quinn Kuo, M.D., Ph.D

Medical Research Scientist

Wieying Quinn Kuo, M.D., Ph.D. is a WorldCare Clinical Medical Research Scientist with experience in safety and standardization of CT protocols, quantitative research, complex data analysis and image analysis. Dr. Kuo has published research findings through peer-reviewed articles and has presented at National and International conferences. Her Post-Doctoral research focus is in Pediatric Pulmonology and Radiology and she has a special interest in pediatric chest CTs.

Noelix Lemelin, RDCS

Medical Research Scientist

Noelix Lemelin is registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer. She manages various sonography trials including TTE and TEE. She serves as echo consultant for several trials involving echo by providing technical assistance and has spent 2 years as an echo analyst for clinical trials at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She spent over 4 years as a sonography acquisition expert in Boston and greater area hospitals including Tufts Medical Center.

Meir S. Silver, PhD

Liver

Dr. Meir Silver is a scientific and clinical lead for MR biomarkers and endpoints. He has over 30 years of experience in pharmaceutical clinical trials and 10 years of experience directly working with Philips and Siemens Medical Systems. He has a proven track record in global life sciences businesses, and developing innovative products and services. He has over twenty years’ experience in the medical device, and pharmaceutical industries, including clinical and pre-clinical imaging for therapeutic indications. He has held executive positions managing R&D, clinical research and operations, sales, marketing, service, and regulatory submissions. Dr. Silver’s experience in leadership positions in medical device and pharmaceuticals, puts him in the unique position to understand market and business operations from functional and technical perspectives. In addition, his experience working in large corporations and small and medium sized companies at different developmental stages lends an exceptional understanding of different business facets and situations. Dr. Silver has over forty peer-reviewed publications and presentations

Ravi Mankala

Associate Director, Medical Research Science

Ravi has approximately over 10 years of experience in Medical Imaging services for clinical trials. He is an expert in Imaging operations and Scientific & Medical services providing support and solutions to Clinical studies with Imaging as endpoints. He previously worked as Principal Scientist contributing as therapeutic lead, acting as scientific liaison with the sponsor team, work with KOLs and experts in industry to refine criteria, draft scientific documents such as charters and provide technical leadership to strategic business group for specific therapeutic areas. Expert in Multiple Imaging criteria and multiple Image modalities, including significant experience in Hematological Malignancies and Clinical Dermatology (photography). Well known for exceptional Leadership qualities, has been people’s manager for more than 4 years. He holds a with Master of Science Degree (Biotechnology), currently working as Associate Director at WCC and is focused on customer satisfaction and deliverables.

His contributions for publications/posters as author and co-authors at various scientific conferences include “Imaging determinants of early progression in relapsed and refractory Hodgkin and diffuse large B cell lymphoma”, “Mantle Cell Lymphoma: Incidence of Gastrointestinal Involvement and Correlation with Overall Response- Retrospective Review of Multiple Multicenter Trials”, “Volumetric Assessment of Thigh Muscle Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging: Challenges & Solutions”, “Evaluation of simulated lesions as surrogates to clinical lesions for thoracic CT volumetry: the results of an international challenge”

Swetha Penmatsa

Medical Research Scientist

Swetha Penmetsa has her Master of Science (MS) , Biochemistry and has been working in Medical Imaging clinical trials since 2013. Ms. Penmetsa regularly leads and consults on training of independent readers, specifically radiologists and oncologists). She is responsible for the scientific guidance for the development of project specific eCRFs and customization requirements. She works closely with KOLs to accumulate medical/scientific knowledge necessary to support study designs and has significant expertise in the processing requirements for ultrasound, DXA, PET, MRI, and CT modalities.

Jeff Schneebaum

Director of Operations, Ophthalmology

Jeff oversees the operations of the ophthalmic team at WorldCare Clinical. Jeff has served as Director of Operations at Digital Angiography Reading Center (DARC) for more than 13 years, helping to build the first all-digital ophthalmic reading center for clinical trials. Jeff has more than 20 years of experience working at Fortune 100 companies such as Credit Suisse First Boston and Colgate Palmolive. Jeff joined WCC in 2021 with the combination of DARC and WCC.

Rona Osmani

Vice President, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs

Rona Osmani is WorldCare Clinical’s Vice President of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs. Ms. Osmani has over ten years of experience in GxP as a Certified Clinical Research Professional. As a member of the company’s executive team, Ms. Osmani directs corporate quality and compliance initiatives to lead a quality governance structure that is six sigma.  Previously in her career, Ms. Osmani held quality assurance positions at other imaging CROs. Ms. Osmani earned a B.A. in Public Health (epidemiology) in 2006 from UC Berkeley with distinctions as an Alumni Achievement Award Scholar.   

Matt Heggem

Vice President, Program Management

Matt Heggem oversees the progress and performance of key programs at WCC. He has over 17 years of experience supporting clinical trial programs in the imaging space across various therapeutic areas including Musculoskeletal, Immunology, Neurology, Cardiology, Orthopedics and Oncology. Before joining WCC, Matt held various leadership roles at Synarc and BioClinica, including most recent positions of Managing Director of Global Services and Director of Program & Project Management. To compliment his extensive program management experience, Matt has an MBA with a specialization in Project Management and holds PMP and PgMP certifications from the Project Management Institute.

Aaron Timm

Chief Executive Officer

Aaron Timm is CEO of WorldCare Clinical. Aaron joined WCC as CEO in November 2014 and has led the company’s successful growth and global expansion. Prior to joining WCC, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Synarc, an imaging CRO, from 2010 to 2014. Aaron joined Synarc as General Counsel in 2005. Earlier in his career, he worked as General Counsel of Vitria Technology, a publicly-traded software company. Aaron began his career practicing corporate law with Orrick, Herrington, & Sutcliffe LLP in San Francisco. He graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown University and with honors from Harvard Law School.
