WorldCare Clinical, LLC (WCC), a leading imaging clinical research organization (CRO), today announced it has entered into a partnership with the University of Chicago Medical Center (UCMC) to augment its medical image analysis and interpretation capabilities. Under the agreement, UCMC will provide radiology diagnostic services in support of global pharmaceutical and medical device clinical trials managed by WCC.
With its radiologists’ specific expertise in oncology and neurology, UCMC will bring specialized image reading services to WCC’s clinical trial capabilities for sponsors. Adding to WCC’s strategic relationships with ProScan Imaging and the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization, this new partnership will expand the staff of expert radiologists available for each clinical trial.
“The University of Chicago Medical Center is a nationally recognized teaching and research hospital with a history of being at the forefront of radiological study,” said Dr. Stephen J. Pomeranz, WorldCare Clinical’s chairman and chief medical officer. “Its highly trained sub-specialty radiologists will be a tremendous asset to our already seasoned team.”
“We are pleased to collaborate with WorldCare Clinical to bring our analytic capabilities to their imaging core lab services,” said Richard Baron, MD, professor and chairman of radiology at the University of Chicago. “We look forward to helping WorldCare Clinical achieve its mission — to increase the efficiency of the drug development process and speed the time to market of new therapeutics.”
